Craig Redman's interpretation of the tea ceremony photograph is an explosion of color, but has a very specific hidden message. The artistic intent was to add new components that intermixed with the traditional photography, yet highly contrasted against it. The text that has invaded the serene scene adds a bright and optimistic feel, yet the message it delivers is creepy and sinister. Overall it is an image of very mixed messages. The text obscures the focal point of the photograph - what are the subjects focused on? The assumption is something wholesome, but the invading imagery obscures and distorts the assumed meaning.
